Decorating with plants...

If you know me then you have an idea that how much I love gardening, plants etc. we do not have big yard but I still try to grow whatever I can in a raised bed behind the deck, in front yard and in pots. As much as I love them outdoors, I like to be surrounded by indoors too and I include plants in my decor, vignettes in every chance I get.

Plants can add life to any dull space and gives a sense of calmness, serenity. I think it can give positive effect to ones brain. It can teach patience and hope. Zen corner like this can help calm and relax mind. sand, rock, soil adds in extra earthy touches.

Most of the house plants also helps in purifying the air. we get long dull winter here and when there is no sign of leaves any where outside, surrounding with plants inside definitely keeps the winter blues away.

Its not that I have green thumb but slowly slowly I have learned and figured out how to keep them alive(mostly :)) plants like Pothos/Money plants are so easy to grow and any brown or black thumb people can grow it :) They look beautiful specially in hanging planter.

I have killed many succulents and cactus, but I think now I have figured out that they love sun and hate over watering. This mini garden is happily growing now on my west side window.

This beautiful umbrella plant I have killed before but this time you wonderful friend have rescued me by giving wonderful advice on my Facebook page. It seems that plants is doing well and sprouting many new leaves so Thank you :)

My air plants are also doing well. Recently I have added fern, spider plant and donkey's tail succulents and trying to figure out their needs.

We are in the process of mini makeover of our living, dining room and kitchen and painting the wall so all of these are moved in my bedroom, little crowded there but loving the mini jungle :) will try to share the pics.

"I grow plants for many reasons: to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty, or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow." -David Hobson
